The Council is committed to tackling domestic abuse in all its forms. The strategic planning, co-ordination, service delivery and service review are undertaken by the Gwent Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence strategic Board.
We understand that domestic violence and domestic abuse affects people from all walks of life, and from all cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds. It affects those in work and those out of work, the young and the old, in all parts of Wales. Whilst the vast majority of victims of domestic abuse are women, men are also victims as are children and young people living in homes where domestic abuse takes place. It can include all kinds of physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse and can occur within all kinds of intimate relationships, including same sex relationships.
With your help we want to ensure every vulnerable child, woman or man that experiences or is affected by domestic abuse or domestic violence has the confidence to seek help.
